SSE Test:
SSE Test is an entrance test that is mandatory for those LUMS applicants who aspire to take admission in LUMS SSE school which offers multiple programs in Science Subjects like Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. So if you want to take admission in any one of these fields you will have to appear in LUMS SSE Entrance test.
Format:
SSE test comprises of 4 sections each containing a certain number of MCQs.
Of these 4 you have to attempt any three. e.g. if you are a pre-med student you might want to leave Maths section or pre-eng students might hate biology section.
Syllabus:
Topics and Questions difficulty level will be Matric/O-levels/FSC-1/A-1.
Most of the students don't apply for SSE test because of the thought that they might not have much time to study for SSE test as they will have to also prepare for their FSc exams. Well, if you are going to prepare for FSc exams, you are automatically studying for SSE test. As test pattern will be similar to SAT subject test, you can use SAT subject test resources for preparation.
Score:
Unlike SAT or other local entry tests (NTS/NUST etc), you will not receive any score report and there will be no list displayed from where you can nd out how well you performed in the test. However, your score will be counted in for the decision of your admission by the admission committee. So, try your best to achieve as much score as you can.
How to apply/ Where to apply? :
For SSE test, you don't need to apply specifically somewhere. Just select some SSE subject as your admission preference in your LUMS admission application form and it will count you in for the SSE test.

For the students, who are a bit confused in SSE test so here's SSE TEST PATTERN 2017:
You have to attempt 3 out of 4 parts based on your previous knowledge.
TOPICS:inequality, system of linear equation, trigonometry (1 question), factorial, logarithm, Functions
Waves (mostly questions) Force, Tension, Normal force, friction Physical optics, heat and thermodynamics, base unit of joule (1 question), convex lens, refractive index, Atomic structure, Bohr's Theory, half life of radioactive metal
Stoichiometry, ionization energy, melting point, boiling point, find the Oxidation number of W in Na2WO2, amphoteric, inert pair effect, organic chemistry, transition metal (1 question )
P.S. Overall test was quite easy only physics was a little bit difficult. Just go through Fsc/SAT2 books and additional topics that are mentioned above you will ace it.I am attaching the Collegeboard's syllabus of all Subject Tests with this post. Just read the names of the topics and ignore that %age wala factor in syllabus.
** Please remember that this is the pattern of last year's test and this group is not an official place, people only share their experiences**
Good Luck !
