About Architecture

Architecture is both the process and the product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings and other physical structures. People need places to live, work, play, learn, shop, and eat. Architects are responsible for designing these places. They work on public or private projects and design both indoor and outdoor spaces. Architects can be commissioned to design anything from a single room to an entire complex of buildings.

The term architecture is also used metaphorically to refer to the design of organizations, software, and other abstract concepts.

Architects plan and design houses, factories, office buildings, and other structures.
